In our accelerated dental assisting and radiology programs, students are immersed in an intensive learning environment where they gather the real-life experiences and education they need to thrive in the workforce. With hands-on training right in the Smiles by Dr D clinic, students are exposed to patients of all ages and their varying dental needs.
Students learn how to perform dental procedures, practice advanced techniques, and utilize state-of-the-art dental technology. They also gain real-life experience working with dentists, hygienists, office staff, and other dental professionals. DATSNWI will work closely with students upon completion of the program and help them explore career opportunities in our region.

What Are the Program Requirements?
Students need a high school diploma or GED to be accepted in our program.
As an approved Workforce Development vocational school, the Indiana State Government helps students pay for their courses. DATSNWI also accepts VA GI benefits.

What is a Dental Assistant?
Dental assistants support dentists in the clinical setting. They serve as the extra set of hands, eyes, and ears that can help transform a patient’s smile.
Here’s a glimpse into what the role of a dental assistant involves:

What is a Dental Radiologist?
A dental radiologist helps dentists get a clearer picture of a patient’s smile and oral health. They administer and perform X-rays, MRI’s, and play an important role in diagnostics and treatment.
We train our students on all the latest techniques and technology in dental radiology. We use and train students on the following types of technology:
- CAD CAM
- Digital radiographs
- KaVO OP 3D™
